The Government of India has launched several pension schemes aimed at providing financial security to citizens in their old age. These schemes include the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana (PMKMY)! Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan Yojana (PMSYM), National Pension System (NPS) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY)

As a VLE, you have the opportunity to enroll citizens in these schemes and help them secure their future. Here’s a brief overview of each of these schemes

#1 Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana (PMKMY)

This scheme is providing pension to small and marginal farmers in the country. Farmers between the age of 18 to 40 years! who have cultivable land up to 2 hectares are eligible to enroll in this scheme. The government will contribute an equal amount to the subscriber’s contribution! and the pension will be paid out after the age of 60.

#2 National Pension System (NPS)

This scheme is a voluntary pension scheme that is open to all citizens between the ages of 18 to 60 years. Under this scheme, subscribers can choose their investment options and also switch between investment options. The pension amount will depend on the accumulated corpus at the time of retirement.

#3 Atal Pension Yojana (APY) Pension Services Through CSC

This scheme is focus on providing pension to citizens who are working in the unorganized sector. Subscribers between the age of 18 to 40 years can enroll in this scheme and choose their contribution amount. The government will contribute 50% of the subscriber’s contribution! and the pension will be pay out after the age of 60.
